Finding Forgiveness with Human Design
Aug 14, 2024Forgiveness is a powerful act, yet it’s often easier said than done. It requires immense strength to truly forgive—not just others, but ourselves. I find myself continually returning to the themes of forgiveness and acceptance. These two are deeply intertwined; to forgive is to accept, and to accept is to forgive. They work hand in hand, each supporting the other.
Through my explorations in the Akashic Records—both my own and those of others—I've uncovered a truth that I’ve often avoided: I have a great deal of forgiveness work left to do, especially toward myself. This realization has come as I’ve faced the guilt I carry, both consciously and unconsciously. It’s challenging to confront the experiences of our lives and fully take accountability for the actions we’ve taken. But at the core of it all, true healing lies in self-accountability, forgiveness, and moving forward.
The Practice of Contemplation
In my personal journey, I’ve been cultivating a practice of contemplation—one that resonates deeply on both physical and energetic levels. By regularly sitting with my Human Design BodyGraph, I’ve started to peel back the layers of my shadows. Surprisingly, I’ve discovered that these shadows often reside in my defined centers rather than the undefined ones. These are the areas where I naturally hold influence, yet that influence isn’t always wielded in alignment with my higher intentions.
For example, in my defined centers, where my energy is more consistent, I’ve noticed patterns where I’ve used this energy in ways that didn’t serve my highest good—whether in relationships, decisions, or other life experiences. This awareness has led me to recognize the need for self-forgiveness. I must forgive myself for the times when I wasn’t aligned, and when my actions led to outcomes that were less than ideal.
Steps Toward Self-Forgiveness
Before we can receive forgiveness, we must first extend it to ourselves. Here are some steps to guide this process:
- Acknowledgment: Begin by acknowledging the areas where you feel out of alignment. Use your BodyGraph as a mirror to reflect on these aspects of yourself. Identify the specific experiences or patterns that need your attention.
- Contemplation: Spend time in deep contemplation, focusing on the energy of your defined centers. Consider how you’ve used this energy in the past—both positively and negatively. Recognize the influence you hold and the responsibility that comes with it.
- Acceptance: Accept your past actions without judgment. Understand that these experiences were part of your journey and growth. Acceptance doesn’t mean condoning the behavior but rather recognizing it as part of your learning process.
- Forgiveness: Actively forgive yourself for the times when you were not in alignment. Release any lingering guilt or shame. This step may involve writing a letter to yourself, engaging in a ritual, or simply meditating on the intention to forgive.
- Integration: After forgiveness, integrate the lessons learned. Use this newfound awareness to make conscious choices moving forward, ensuring that your actions are in alignment with your true self.
An Example of Self-Forgiveness
Let’s say you have a defined Solar Plexus, which governs emotions. You may have realized that in moments of emotional intensity, you’ve allowed your emotions to dictate your actions, leading to conflict in your relationships. Acknowledging this pattern, you contemplate how these emotional responses have impacted others and yourself. You accept that this is a part of your emotional journey and forgive yourself for the times when you’ve reacted rather than responded. As you integrate this understanding, you start to notice a shift—perhaps you become more mindful of your emotional triggers and choose to respond from a place of calm rather than impulsive reaction.
As Within, So Without
Forgiveness begins within. By forgiving ourselves, we create space for healing and transformation. This inner work then radiates outward, affecting how we engage with the world around us. As you journey through your BodyGraph and uncover your shadows, remember that self-forgiveness is a vital part of the process. As you heal from within, you’ll find it easier to forgive others, creating a ripple effect that brings more peace and harmony into your life.
